SYWARE Announces FoneDB® Expense Tracker, Free Expense Tracking Software for Smartphones

Cambridge, MA (September 9, 2003)-SYWARE, Inc., a leading developer of intuitive, mobile database tools for business and personal productivity, today announced the immediate availability of FoneDB® Expense Tracker, a FREE software application that allows tracking of personal or work expenses using Smartphone devices. The application was developed using SYWARE's FoneDB, the first forms and database software for Microsoft® Windows® Powered Smartphones.

FoneDB Expense Tracker provides individuals with the ability to track expenses, such as food, travel, and lodging, then email the information to other Smartphone devices or to a desktop computer. Using check boxes, dropdown lists, date categories, and notes, information can be entered with a minimum of typing. A summary of expenses can be automatically emailed to other phones or to a desktop computer. Using the associated ODBC driver, FoneDB data can be easily imported into other applications such as Microsoft Access, Excel, or Goldmine. Expense data can also be viewed and edited directly on a desktop computer.

Creating Data-Driven Apps with FoneDB
FoneDB Expense Tracker is based on SYWARE's FoneDB database development software. With FoneDB, mobile operators, content publishers, and individuals can quickly and easily create mobile databases for Smartphone devices, like FoneDB Expense Tracker.

FoneDB applications are driven by forms that are designed on a desktop PC. No programming is required as forms are built with a set of common controls. Data can be formatted as text, integer, floating point, currency, date, or time. Once created, each FoneDB form is a compact application that is able to store and retrieve data.

In addition to FoneDB's intuitive development environment, individual applications developed with FoneDB do not have to be digitally signed before they can be run on a Smartphone. This means that the costly and time consuming task of securing a digital signature is not needed before a FoneDB application can be deployed on a Smartphone.

FoneDB Expense Tracker runs on any Microsoft Windows Powered Smartphone and is available for immediate download from the SYWARE downloads library at http://www.syware.com/prodlib/download.htm. The software is free.

It is priced at $399 and includes one license to create and modify the structure of a FoneDB database, one FoneDB ODBC driver license, and run-time licenses for 10 individuals. Additional licenses are available as follows: 10-pack run-times for $50, 100-pack run-times for $300, 1000-pack run-times for $1000.
