SYWARE's New Edition of mEnable^® Wirelessly Connects Windows XP Tablet PCs with Corporate Servers

Cambridge, MA (January 21, 2003)-SYWARE, Inc., a leading developer of intuitive database tools for business and personal productivity, today announced mEnable^® for Windows XP Tablet PC Edition, the newest version of the company's wireless software architecture that allows mobile users to access and modify server data in real time. mEnable allows the development of data-driven applications that wirelessly connect Windows, Windows CE, and Pocket PC-powered handhelds, including the new XP Tablet PCs, with corporate servers. Wireless Access to the Latest Data
Mobile professionals no longer have to rely on local data that has been previously downloaded to their handhelds and is now out of date. mEnable for Windows XP Tablet PC Edition allows any application written in C++, Visual Basic, eMbedded C++, embedded Visual Basic, or Visual Studio .NET to wirelessly read from or write to any ODBC-enabled data source, such as Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, Microsoft Access, and Sybase. As a result, synchronization is no longer required to access the latest information residing on corporate servers. Users are instantly connected to their data.

The mEnable architecture extends the reach of mobile workers, using the TCP/IP protocol to seamlessly communicate over LAN, WAN, or Internet connections, whether wireless or wired. The software exchanges data between the mobile device (Tablet PCs, Pocket PCs, or Windows CE devices) and the server, providing full, interactive access to corporate databases. This eliminates synchronization tasks and "islands of data" that occur when data is stored on mobile devices.
