SYWARE, Inc., a leading developer of intuitive database tools for business and personal productivity, is pleased to announce its 10 year anniversary as a developer of data management and connectivity software for the mobile marketplace. The company's products, featuring the popular Visual CE® database development toolset for Windows CE and Pocket PC devices, have played a major role in helping handhelds emerge as a powerful platform for improving business and personal productivity. As handheld devices reach an even broader market, SYWARE's tools are enabling programmers and non-programmers alike to create innovative mobile applications in minimal time. SYWARE has aligned itself with the soaring handheld marketplace and the growing popularity of the Microsoft Windows CE/Pocket PC platform. Over 7 million handheld devices were shipped in 2000, a 31% increase from 1999. (Dataquest, 2000). During the same timeframe, the Windows CE share of the market more than doubled, rising to nearly 25% in 2001. Keeping pace with the industry, SYWARE has seen its customer base grow to include a rich mixture of small, medium, and large corporations, from Jacobson Medical Group to Coca-Cola Corporation. "SYWARE and Windows CE have grown up together," says Sy Danberg, President of SYWARE. "Even before Windows CE was released to the public, we were working closely with Microsoft. As the market continues to grow, we're expanding the feature set of our products and incorporating additional functionality, including a new wireless technology platform that will make our customers even more productive." Productivity
Tools for a Growing Market Building on its success with Visual CE, SYWARE expanded its Windows CE offerings with Report CE®, a full-featured reporting and printing tool, and SerialLink, a serial port integration solution. The Visual CE family of software tools runs on a variety of Windows CE and Pocket PC devices, including Symbol Technologies PPT 2700 Pocket PC with integrated bar code scanner. Additional Windows CE products are planned, with an emphasis on wireless applications. Before the introduction of Windows CE, SYWARE developed and marketed its own line of software tools to assist programmers with ODBC development and support. Earlier, the company created tools to assist in the replication and synchronization of relational databases. The company made its start by providing database programming services for large companies including Borland, Microsoft, NCR, and Lotus. In a market notorious for companies that are here today and gone tomorrow, SYWARE's 10 year anniversary demonstrates its staying power. "We plan on being here for the duration," adds Danberg. "We're committed to each of our customers and to improving the efficiency of the increasingly mobile world we live in." About
